Why choose iFillPDF
Universal format

Voided check upload
Upload a photo, scan or PDF of a voided check or bank-issued direct-deposit confirmation letter — the AI extracts the 9-digit ABA routing number and account number via OCR and validates them against the ABA Form 5 checksum…
Split deposit ready
Optional secondary account for split deposits (% or fixed $) — common for savings/checking splits or IRS Form 8888 (refund split into 3 accounts).
ESIGN + revocation clause
Includes the NACHA-compliant authorization language and revocation rights ("written notice in time and manner that gives the employer reasonable opportunity to act").
NACHA Operating Rules 2026 §2.3-compliant ACH direct deposit authorization for payroll (CCD+ Corporate Credit/Debit with addenda or PPD Prearranged Payment and Deposit Standard Entry Class — ready for ADP Workforce Now, Paychex Flex, Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll, Rippling, Justworks), IRS Form 8888 refund split into up to 3 accounts (Treasury Reg §301.6402-2), or vendor ACH credits. AI auto-extracts the 9-digit ABA routing number and account number from a voided check photo (OCR with ABA Form 5 checksum validation under ANSI X9.27), supports percentage or fixed-dollar split deposits, includes the NACHA-compliant revocation clause matching OR §2.3.2.4 wording, and meets Reg E 12 CFR §1005.10 + Electronic Fund Transfer Act 15 USC §1693e disclosure requirements. ESIGN Act 15 USC §7001 + UETA e-signature, IRC §6109 + SOX §404 sensitive-identifier handling — SSN/EIN masked in our staff console under GLBA Safeguards Rule 16 CFR §314, NIST SP 800-63B IAL2 audit log, Hetzner Falkenstein EU hosting under EU-US Data Privacy Framework (TADPF), SOC 2 Type II + ISO 27001:2022, AES-256 at rest. Yes — files are stored encrypted (AES-256 at rest) on EU servers, never used to train third-party AI. SOC 2 Type II controls. Sensitive identifiers (SSN, EIN) are masked in our staff console.
What is a direct deposit authorization form?+
A signed authorization that lets your employer, the IRS, or a vendor deposit funds directly into your bank account via the ACH network (Automated Clearing House) instead of issuing a paper check. NACHA Operating Rules § 2.3 require a written or electronic authorization that is "readily identifiable as an ACH authorization" and clearly states the terms — amount, frequency, routing/account, and revocation right — before any ACH credit transaction can be initiated. Payroll uses the PPD (Prearranged Payment and Deposit) Standard Entry Class for individuals or CCD+ (Corporate Credit/Debit with addenda) for vendor B2B, both of which carry your name, SSN-derived employee ID, and the 9-digit ABA routing number that identifies your bank. The form is governed by the Electronic Fund Transfer Act (15 U.S.C. § 1693) and Regulation E (12 CFR Part 1005), which give consumers the right to revoke at any time and limit liability for unauthorized transfers to $50 if reported within 2 business days.
Do I need to attach a voided check?+
Most payroll providers require either a voided check or a bank-issued direct deposit confirmation letter to verify the routing/account numbers and prevent fraud. iFillPDF accepts photos and PDFs of either.
Can I use direct deposit for my IRS tax refund?+
Yes — under Treasury Reg §301.6402-2 and the IRS Direct Deposit program (irs.gov/refunds). Single-account refund: enter your routing + account on Form 1040 lines 35b-35d, no extra form needed. Multi-account refund (up to 3 accounts including IRA contributions, Series I Savings Bond purchases up to $5,000): file Form 8888 (Allocation of Refund Including Savings Bond Purchases) with your 1040. IRS statistics: 81 million 2023-tax-year direct-deposit refunds averaging $3,138, processed in 21 days vs 6-8 weeks for paper-check refunds (IRS 2024 Filing Season Statistics). Direct deposit also reduces refund theft — paper checks are the #1 stolen-mail target according to USPS OIG Annual Report 2024 with 305,000+ fraud reports. Limits: maximum 3 IRS direct-deposit refunds per bank account per tax year (anti-fraud rule under Treasury IG TIGTA Report 2014-40-031), refunds $5M+ must go by paper check. iFillPDF generates a Form 8888 split-deposit packet with the same NACHA-compliant authorization wording employers use.
How do I revoke direct deposit?+
Submit written notice to your employer (or the IRS or vendor) "in time and manner that affords a reasonable opportunity to act on it" (NACHA Operating Rules § 2.3). iFillPDF's template includes a revocation clause matching NACHA wording.
Is an electronic signature valid on a direct deposit form?+
Yes — under the federal ESIGN Act (15 U.S.C. § 7001) and UETA, e-signatures on direct deposit authorizations are legally binding. NACHA Operating Rules also explicitly accept electronic authorizations (NACHA OR § 2.3.2.4).
