Send a PDF to a third party for signature

Once your PDF is ready, send it to a recipient who will sign from any device β€” without needing an iFillPDF account.

1. Click "Send for signature"

From your filled PDF, click "Send for signature" in the top right.

Enter the recipient's email and an optional message.

2. The recipient receives a magic link

Email sent via Resend (our email infrastructure) with a secure link.

The link expires in 30 days by default. You can extend it (up to 90 days).

The recipient does not need to create an account. They sign by drawing or typing their name.

3. You receive the signed PDF

Automatic email as soon as the recipient finishes. Signed PDF attached + eIDAS audit trail in JSON format (who, when, from which IP, SHA-256 hash of the document).

Legal compliance: "advanced eIDAS" signature admissible in court across the EU (Regulation 910/2014). Equivalent legal standing in the UK (Electronic Communications Act 2000) and recognised under the US E-SIGN Act for cross-border contracts.

Average signature time observed on the recipient side: 2 min 14 s (2025, anonymised internal data).
